Great News!

November 19th, 2014

The end of the fall season has arrived, and SO many projects have been completed. First and foremost, the memoir written by Dennis Bryon was accepted by ECW Press as a completed manuscript in early October. Up until September Kayte proofed each chapter before handing the book to Dave Carew to professionally edit. The last month of writing in September was the most tense, with Kayte taking over most of the last-minute editing chores.

At the same time, William Corey--a country artist-- was finishing his single in Nashville. Producer Jim Foster brought Carey's vocal performance to Kayte's studio for performance editing. Grammy-award winning engineer Dave Shipley is responsible for the great blending of that vocal with the rest of the band and background singers. The result can be seen here in this newly released youtube video:

Finally, A Nashville Writer's Night With Kayte In It

Update November 2013

On Thursday, November 7th at 7pm Central Time sharp, Kayte will join four other of the most talented songwriters and vocalists in the business in a showcase at the NEW Miller Piano sound stage in Cool Springs. While in rehearsal on Sunday, this accidental grouping of musicians jokingly wrote an instant song called "Accident" and from there they morphed into the "Accidental Band", appropriately named after this occasion. While sharing their music with each other, there was an emotional and fiery explosion (maybe due to James Wold's rendition of "Mushroom Cloud") that caused every electronic recording device in the room to fail, thus proof of the power of the music being performed.

The "Accidental Band" consists of these talents in reverse alphabetical order: James Wold, Chris Pelcer, Kayte Strong-Bryon and Dennis Bryon with special guest artist/actress Leslie Mills. All of the songs were selected accidentally and might even be on Chris Pelcer's YouTube station (even the silly ones). There will be no set list, so this whole adventure will be a random act of kindness and bravery...

Address for the event: 539 cool springs blvd. suite 110, on the other side of music and arts.

After two weeks at #14, "Born" begins its rise up the charts again!

After spending 10 weeks in the top ten, then dropping to #14 for 2 weeks, "Born To Love You" is making a comeback on the Roots Music Charts due to the release of her second single from the CD. The album is also rising up the Americana Chart step by step.

Not a surprise--one of the newest stations to add the record is KFAI FM in Minneapolis, MN. Kayte began her touring career in the Minneapolis malls November and December 1997 by playing at the Southdale, Ridgedale and Rosedale malls.

Kayte has just posted "I Need A Beach" on her myspace page so anyone can listen to the FULL version of that song. This is a gift to all of you who are braving the cold up north!

Roots Music Review Ranks Kayte #51 among Tennessee Natives

Kayte has now placed 51st across ALL genres of roots music (such as country, blues and bluegrass) on the Tennessee Native Airplay Report as reported by the RMR. This is up by one position from last week. The Tennessee State Roots Music Chart (there's a chart for each of the 50 states) is open to only artists who reside in the state of Tennessee, and therefore is a highly competitive and talented roster of artists.

"Born To Love You" continues to hang on to to the #9 position on Cashbox Magazine and the Roots Music Report for the 4th straight week (Pop Country). This is the eighth consecutive week the album has held a position in the top ten.

Kayte can now be heard in Austin, Texas on KUT FM, Grand Junction, Colorado on KAFM FM, and Bloomington, Indiana on WFHB FM. There's also a wonderful website dedicated to indie artists that specializes in Celtic and Roots Music on the internet at www.mellowmelodies.com that is featuring "Born To Love You" on its front page this month. Please check out the artists on this site!
